Kristy Forbes

If you know me (John Counsel) at all, or follow my writing, you may have noticed that I recommend very few professionals in the field of Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. It’s not that I don’t like professional therapists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, pædiatricians et al.

There just aren’t many that I trust.

Too many are simply not informed… they don’t stay up to date with latest research, or they cling to outmoded ideas — which, to be fair, can be easy to do when so much “research” is driven by the need to do it just to qualify for the mandatory higher degrees needed to practice professionally.  Learn more…

Then there are those who fall into this category…

Old Japanese Proverb

Not so Kristy Forbes. She’s not only educated in her professional fields and carving a respected role for herself in the fields in which she specialises, but she has all-important LIVED EXPERIENCE as both autistic and with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance).

So she not only “talks the talk”. She WALKS the talk every day of her life.

What’s more… I trust her.

I’m confident that when you’ve read and watched and listened to her ideas, insights and experience-informed opinions, you’ll quickly come to trust her too.
